Turks and Caicos - Providenciales Travel Guide
The Turks and Caicos are the epitome of elevated island vibes. Stay at lovely resorts then stroll along the white sand beach to casual island restaurants. It’s a perfect spot for a honeymoon or a family vacation. Here’s your guide to Providenciales-
To Stay:
A famous spot on Providenciales. This hotel lies along the truly iconic Grace Bay beach. This beach is covered in white sand and the most beautiful blue water, making views from your room extraordinary. They offer various size rooms, a beautiful spa, and fun bars and restaurants.
This is actually the newer, sister hotel to The Palms. Just the drive in and walking through the lobby will have you never wanting to leave. The architecture is unique and more modern but still has that cozy island feel. If you’re into water sports like kiteboarding, this is the spot to be. Even though it’s the windier side of the island, you won’t be limiting your days lounging by the pool or on the beach.
This hotel is also on Grace Bay beach and is another popular spot. All of these hotels give you the perks of a resort, with the intimacy of a boutique hotel, which I personally love. If you don’t stay here, take a night to go to the Infiniti Bar for cocktails and sushi.
Another new addition to the Providenciales accommodations list. This stunning Aman resort is located in a lush nature reserve oozing exclusivity and tranquility.
I mentioned this company in my St. Barth’s blog. We stayed on Providenciales with them first and loved our experience. They have a wide variety of stunning beachside properties all over the island. If you’re going with a big group I highly recommend looking at some of their villas.
To Eat:
Mango Reef
A casual harbor restaurant – beware of the special drink
Hemmingway’s
Lovely lunch spot on Grace Bay Beach
Infiniti Bar
As mentioned above – amazing sushi
Coco Bistro
This is a MUST when you’re visiting the island. A lovely garden setting with delicious food and drinks.
Da Conch Shack
Another must-do when you’re there. Fun, colorful spot on the beach with all the conch (and other food) you can imagine. Order a pitcher of rum punch, of course.
Danny Boys Bar
For a late-night drink or bites
Seven Restaurant
To Do:
Besides laying by the pool or soaking up the saltwater in the ocean? Here ya go:
Boat Day
We highly recommend M&J Charters for some island hopping, swimming, tubing, and drinking rum punch.
Check out Grace Bay Beach
If you aren’t staying on this part of the island, definitely make a point to go check it out. Take a walk, lay in the sand, and swim in the ocean.
Rent Jet skis
You can pretty much find jet ski rentals around any hotel. If you’re staying at the Shore Club ride on over to the floating bar just offshore
Jump off the old ship
If you spend any time on the water around Providenciales you’ll probably notice a massive, rusty ship plugged into the shallow waters. You can, and you should jump off of it. Just make sure the tide is high enough and you watch where you step… and maybe that you’re up to date on your tetanus shots.
Snorkeling
Whether it's off a boat or off the shore from your hotel, you’ll spot some incredible fish. Keep a look out for the famous dolphin that swims around Grace Bay.
